  • The education system is divided into 4 levels: primary, junior and senior secondary, and tertiary (university).

  • All textbooks and material are in English

  • More 3,000 Ghanaians are enrolled in over 600 U.S. institutions in all 50 states. 

  • Over 450,000 children are out-of-school; they come mostly from the poorest households and within the three northern regions.

  • Target for textbook–student ratio has not been achieved and has been declining: student–textbook ratio is about 0.50 for mathematics, science, and English textbooks
